Hi all,

Im interested in breading my colorado river toads, has anybody had any success with this? or does anybody have any tips on how to do it (water depth, temperature cycling etc?)

Thanks.

Hello,
What a coincidence, I just got my long-awaited Bufo alvarius in the mail today. In my research about these toads, I have found an excellent website which lists several publications which might be useful to you. Of particular interest would be the master's thesis of an ASU graduate student, who managed to breed Bufo alvarius in captivity:

Hill, Willie James. 1961. The developmental pattern of the Colorado River toad (Bufo alvarius Girard) from stage one through twenty. Thesis: (M.S.)--Arizona State University, 1961--Biology.

I plan to get a copy of this, as soon as I find a mate for my female, "Kathy". If you know where I could find a male, please drop me a line. Considering the demand for these critters, you could probably make quite a lot of money breeding them!

Nate
