pretty cool but dont the lights annoy the snakes?
I thought that because they are DEEP(dimensions approx 5x5x14)they would have a warm/light and cold/dark end.....but that top cage is SPLIT in half and has cages on the BACK SIDE too(5x5x6).Even in the smaller units the snakes seem relatively well adjusted(though the small cages can run "relatively"warm)as I have NEVER seen growth like I have this year.No kidding.I think that may just have to do with the change in substrate but that would not have been done without these cages so.....directly or indirectly I think they are a definate improvement over pine shavings in rubbermaids that I have used for years. The cool thing for me(the lazy slob who is blind to cleaning)is that I can SEE when they are dirty way sooner and do something about it.Dont they look like the bridge on the ENTERPRISE??LOL,Jeff
not to bad but i can see you have a venting problem, a word of advise would be to get some air moving through the cages or you will have some animals very sick.
The humidity is almost entirely dependent on where you put the water bowl....I move it around so that when its on the heat it creates a more humid cage, off it its less humid.I clean at least every other day anyway and the size of the doors makes venting fresh air easy. You can obviously increase the number or size of the vent holes but it makes holding a constant temp harder.I keep these in the 58 degree basement(which is humid as well)so I like to limit ventilation anyway. The hot spot is warm enough to nullify any possible respiratory problems.Good observation though!Jeff
the lights do not bother your snakes?
i do like it but dont the lights annoy your snakes?
Very cool... next time I'm down in Boston and can't decide whether to go to a nightclub or a museum, I'll have to pay you a visit!
