Anyone know of any quail breeders in the Northern Ilinois/Southern Wisconsin area? I can order them frozen on the web, I know, but I'm always looking to avoid shipping where possible. I'd rather drive two hours than pay for shipping. I could buy either live or frozen...

do a search for quail hunting clubs in your area. They often sell game birds. It would be bobwhite and not button quail, most likely.

Both McMurray Hatchery and Ideal Hatchery sell live quail which can be sent inexpensively in the US mail. Chickens are even cheaper though. If day old chicks aren't too big, that might be an even cheaper way to go.
