MONITOR PROBLEM

ziggythenile Mar 16, 2004 01:25 PM

I have a nile monitor that is half a year old. The last week or so his tail has started to shrivel. I thought it was a shedding problem, but his health has continued to decline. Today I brought him in to the vet. The vet thinks he may have developed a blood clot which cause his tail to shrivel. He says their is no evidence of an infection or bacteria and his health overall appears to be good. He cannot explain a brownish tint that his skin has also developed. He is getting a segment of his tail amped today, and I feel aweful about it. I FEEL SICK. Why has this happened? Will this come back again? How do i prevent it? Any help is greatly appreciated

Kyle

I wish it was that simple, i appreciate the reply though. I believe it may have been an infection only because of the browning of the skin. He's on antibiotics and a couple inches short on his tail now.
