I just got my first snake ever, and I'm just wondering if I'm doing everything right so far.
Its a desert phase california king, about 12" long. I have it in a 30 gallon aquarium, a hiding place on the cool and warm ends, and a grapevine on the warm end to climb on. I have the water dish on the warm end as well.
My gradient is about 75-85, and it drops a little at night. I have him on a crushed walnut bedding, and I've managed to effortlessly switch him from feeding on live pinkies to pre-killed.
I've only had him since last wednesday, the pet store fed him before I got him, and then I fed him yesterday, but I haven't seen a stool yet. How long should it take? I've sifted through the bedding a few times, but not seen anything.
Any changes I should make? Am I doing things well so far?
