lighting

first, thanks paradisio on your advise.
second,i bought two lights ones a uvb light for iguanas and the second is just a heat lamp,the haet lamp light out shines the uvb(you cant see the uvb light)when both are on,does this take away from the uvb rays.my enclosure is not that big right now

beautiful iguana, but you should get rid of that bark substrate...if he ingests it, it could impact him...newspaper or linoleum...good luck...Lyn

I have had good luck with rabbit food for bedding. It looks really nice and if they ingest it the vet says it wont hurt them, and they can actually eat it. I would check out the part about actually eating it though just to be sure. My iggys never ate any of it though. Good luck with your iggy.

I agree with the substrate issue. I use linolum in all the the enclosures and it makes for an easy clean-up!

He is just too cute! I agree, lose the bark, newspaper over tile is much easier to clean up anyhow. But, for your question, the heat lamp won't diminish the effects of your UVB bulb. Keep an eye on your temps, I know when I tried that style of bulb it would get quite toasty, I would just adjust it higher so Tempest wouldn't get too hot.

ty again for the advise,yes he is cute,he will be a part of the family(3 red tail boas,cat,2 hermit crabs,many fish)for a long time.Alright time to go clean out the bark.
