Switching crickets to mealies

lostkauze Mar 16, 2004 04:18 PM

In early Feb. I picked up a great looking gecko at a show. She is parasite and bug free, I took her out of brumation, and she's in quaranten. (sp).

The problem is this... my girl only eats crickets. I really want her to eat mealworms, or superworms, but she's only interested in crickets. I recently bought silkworms, an expensive venture, to try to bring my girl over to the worm side. (some of you suggested it, but it didnt work.)

For Marcia-because you've been active lately-, or anyone else who wants to take a stab... Why wont she eat worms? What can I do to make her eat worms? She's hungry, I can tell, but won't eat worms(I've been trying the past 2 days). I'm going to get crickets tonight because I feel bad for her. But I don't like getting crickets and stuff. So what can I do?

Thanks!!!!

Michael

dont feed the leo for like 2-3 days then put some mealies in a dish and seee if she eats any.

also make them move around, sometimes geckos won't eat unless stuff is moving, they just might not recongize its food until it wiggles. either try wiggling it in front of the gekco or smash the mealworms on the head and they go nuts.
