sexed my leos!

anemone Mar 16, 2004 05:46 PM

I'm not really sure what they are, but I know they are different. One of them has a small bulge right beside the tail and the other it flatter with nothing right by the tail. So do I have a male and female?? I'm not sure how old they are. I got them about a month ago. All their strips have turned to spots though. But are still in the band areas. I'm guessing around 4 months old.

Right now they are both females unless if you see defined pores in a v shap pattern pointing north. You will be certain of their sex at about 7 months of age. thats when most leos mature.

then at earlier ages if you know what to look for.... generally by about 15-20 grmas you can sex them quite acurrately. i do not look for pores because both males and females have some pores males are just more defined... you need to look (and females have a buldge too) but you need to look for an indention or seperation inbetween the buldge which tells you it's a male the two buldges are the hemipenes. in females it is one area completely flatish with no seperation. good luck!
