Picking the brains of the boa breeders....

hill4803 Mar 16, 2004 06:48 PM

I am wanting to breed a pair of columbians next year. The male is about 8', the female is a big 'un...she's a stout 10 ' both are healthy, great eaters, a little tempermental but generally good snakes. I was wondering when the experts (like bci joe & rio bravo ...by the way thanks for helping me id my smaller boas) start the cooling period? How long do you cool? What cooling methods have worked best? Do you cool them together? And finally, how long do you keep them cooled down? I have read a bunch of books but I have found them to be lacking on good solid info. If anyone can recommend some good resources I would be ecstatic. (Geckos & frogs are so much easier but ya gotta love the big snakes!)
