mouth stretching?

I was just curious, I've noticed that once in a while my snake will open her mouth like she's yawning, then just stretch her jaws around. It's kind of weird, and it scared my friend to death who saw her do it too, hehe. Is she just stretching?

All snakes do it.It is pretty cool to watch.I think it is there way of stretching out.....Paul.

This 'yawning' is also a way to re-align their jaws after a meal.
