Ovulation Question to those that know

jgriffi Mar 16, 2004 09:02 PM

My female stopped mating for about a week, I took the male out for two weeks and put him back today and they started back mating. Question is is it still too late in the year for her to ovulate. Second both are 2 1/2 yr and their first time mating so do the females normally ovulate their first yr mating?
Thanks

Your female could still easily ovulate.
It really depends on a lot of things though.
How was she cycled? How is her body mass? etc.
Assuming you followed 'standard' breeding
techniques, she can easily still ovulate for me.
In fact, I've got several females that haven't
ovulated yet for me that I am sure will eventually.
I've got a lot of others that have just ovulated
on the last several weeks.

Best of luck!

No. MOST female Ball Pythons have not laid eggs yet this year. The big months for laying are April and May. Its only March 16th.
