heating the cool end

I am getting my first uro in a couple of days and need help bringing the cool end of the tank up to the warmth it needs to be It is 78 now. can I put a 50 watt light on that end to bring the temps up a little or will this not work.

Yes, 78* isn't bad for a cool end, as long as the hot side is hot enough. I added a 50w bulb about halfway down my cage to raise the temps in the middle and cool end a bit - went from about 78* to around 83*. The uros are more active now, and they use the whole cage.
