Breeding one female to two males?

Kurma Mar 17, 2004 07:48 AM

Has anyone ever bred one female to two males say with one week period when she is still recptive? I've often wondered what would happen if this was done, if the clutches would be fertile from just one was or both.

as i understand it *because i have not tried it) your leo would become gravid from only one male... whomever's sperm fertilized the original eggs

If you put the female in with the 1st male for a week then switch the males for a week its just like kids id think whatever males sperm pregnated her is the father. I dont think you can have 2 father to the same clutch.. Alot of breeders switch males half way threw when breeding just to make better the chances of getting her pregnant from 1 of the males. Just incase one of the little guys has a low sperm count, or intimacy problems, etc.. Long as there are never 2 males together in the same cage there shouldnt ever be a problem.

As you would probably guess the 1st clutch would be fertilized by the first male, but I would think both males' sperm would be stored and it is luck of the draw on the father for the next few clutches.
