This beautiful creature was found under a greenhorn limestone ledge in a wooded cow pasture. We hunted all day here with no success hoping to find a milk at this new spot with great habitat. Weather conditions were fair and we expected to see more milks, but this female was it for that spot. She looks even better in real life, and is honestly one of the nicest and cleanest milks I have ever seen in Kansas.

It must be nice being surrounded by prime habitat. I think I have to drive 2-3 hours west or south to find any habitat!

Thanks for sharing all the pics...next best thing to finding one myself.

That is the epitome of the red-dominant red milk I would like to find some day--deep bands and true colors. The same characteristics but with white/cream dominant was the other dream milk I was attempting to describe to you yesterday. What a beautiful snake.

I forgot to mention that I am going to go out Saturday. If you happen to forego the extended trip and would like to go herp Missouri or Kansas for the day, let me know today or tomorrow and I can come by or we can meet up. It would be great to have you along. Marshall (the guy I mentioned) will be going also, so we could both meet him. Maybe kind of early, but the bones are aching. --Matt
