pressure treated wood bad for aquatic turtles?

emumaster17 Mar 17, 2004 03:01 PM

Ive heard that pressure treated wood was bad for aquatic turtles.
Is this true? I have this lattice stuff that I want to put in with my res's and snapper to grow plants behind. If I put the pressure treated wood in the water will it release chemicals or anything that will hurt them?

I'd say it would. There's a big warning up about pressure treated wood up at Home Depot and I saw a news story about the nasty stuff it has in it. I guess it could poison YOU if you're not careful enough.
