Nevin,
I would'nt do anything immediatly but increase the humidity to near 100%. If after a couple of days that does'nt work place the snake in a small rubbermaid shoebox with a soaking wet towel and leave for several hours. If that does'nt do the trick what I have done (I really hate to recommend this) is firmly secure the head with one hand and control the body with that hands forearm, take a tissue and wet it thouroughly and with the other hand GENTLY brush it against the eye cap until it comes off. This should be a last resort. Remember, gently.
Hope this helps,
Paul

don't try to tweez it, or pull it off with tape. that just won't have a happy ending.

DO - soak your animal in room temperature water (the snakes room temp. not yours) for a couple of hours. it should come off on it's own after that. if it doesn't, apply a dab of neosporin(without pain reliever) to the eye cap a couple of times a day...it should come off in a few hours.

good luck, chris

If the humidity is too low the eye can dent and wrinkle and that can look a lot like a retained shed. This will go away on its own with the right moisture. Your humidity is probably too low already if he retained the cap once or possibly twice.
