My ball just completed her shed. The shed was complete, however, several single scales seemed to have came off during the shed. The skin underneath is pinkish in color. Is this common, should I be worried about infection?

Its not common, but it does happen.
This is a photo from last year, I treated it with neosporin. Now you really have to look to find the area that the scale was lost.

What are the causes? Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening again?
To tell you the truth I have no idea why, but it could be the result of injury or hard shed(low humidity during shed). My snakes always shed in one piece, so I was shocked when this happened. I assumed he injured himself and this was the result.
Like I mentioned earlier, he is fine today, and I can barely identify the scale that was lost.
good luck
