Venomous snakes legal to own in NJ???

tarantulady Mar 17, 2004 10:33 PM

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is illegal to own a monocle cobra in NJ. This is not for me... My boyfriend thinks they are cool and he wants one. To be honest, I don't think he needs one nor can he handle one
Feel free to email or AIM if you have any information that you think I should show to him. I'm TarantuLady@aol.com
Thanks

1) Venomous snakes are illegal to own in NJ.
2) Without ALOT of experience under his belt, your BF should NOT get a monocled cobra...they are hihgly dangerous animals.

Get a black racer, same attitude, no venom.

I agree wholly and I've read the message to him. Thank you. I also called the department of Fish and Wildlife to make them read off the rules pertaining to hot snakes on my answering machine and show him the message.
It's not that I'm a controlling [bleep], really. I just love him and don't want him to get hurt. n_n I love black racers. So feisty XD I catch them in South Jersey from time to time.
Yeah, I'm rambling again. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!
