Hi everyone,

I was just wondering what you guys thought of this line of gutloads. They look wonderful, but I'm curious whether any of you tried them and what you thought of them.

Here's the link: http://www.cricketfood.com

Thanks!

Yes I have used their gutload. As a matter of fact my testimonial is still on their testimonial page.

I have tried the gutload (roaches) but went back to my old way of feeding fruits, veggies, and high protein dogfood.

If for convience sake people buy gutloads sounds good, but for me I make my own. I've seen chameleons on commercial gutloads that look the same and as healthy as when their fed noncommercial gutloads.

Just keep in mind that when someone says it's a great product, "We use it and our animals look better and healthier than before" doesn't mean it's true. Product endorsements are a dime a dozen..

Forgot to add I did buy large group roaches from cricktfood and was happy so this isnt anything against them, just commercial gutloads alltogether..

Hi, thanks for your input. I don't trust endorsements either, that's why I posted the question. I did end up doing a searchon the forum and people seem to have nothing but good things to say about them. I'm a little worried about the nut content, though, not because of the high fat content (they say that the overall fat content is pretty low) but because of the allergy risk. Or is that not an issue with reptiles? Hrm...

Just because you don't like or endorse a product does not mean that other endorsements are not for real. Endorsements from some are not a dime a dozen. I personally will not endorse something that I don't stand behind 100% and neither does Dr. Alfonso.

I use this product and have had a great experience with it. I used to have a huge amount of die off and when I switched the die off rate dropped dramatically. I also offer fresh fruits and veggies along with this gutload just for more variety, but since I have started using it, the crickets have lasted me much longer than before.

Rob:

Don't sweat it too much. I guess to some people endorsements are like opinions, they need to be taken like a grain of salt. We can share our success with the product all we want but it will not make anyone buy it. However, some people might want to try and see if our success can be duplicated in their settings. Some will succeed and some will fail and try something else. That doesn't make it right or wrong in my book.

Now, if we were a couple of TV or movie stars maybe we can get some pull here because THAT'S an endorsement you can trust, LOL.

Yeah, I know about the Walkabout Farms diets. They are excellent, possibly the absolute best there is when it comes to commercial diets... if you can even call them that.

They used to offer free samples, about five years ago or so when they were first promoting their line of products. I had ordered free samples for my iguanas and the quality was outstanding.
