Question on weight for breeding

wingert Mar 18, 2004 09:36 AM

What is a good weight to shoot for on my females before I start breedig this season? I think I will try to shoot for 50g but what trouble will I run into if some of the females are less?

When you breed female geckos, you should have at least 50 grams on her or more. I try to get mine somewhere between 55-70, and sometimes more. Some of my females just chunk up and they are already around 70-80 grams.

IMO I think 40 grams is just too small.

If they have alot more weight on them, they wont loose as much while laying eggs, and they'll give you a good season. At least thats what I've noticed with my females.

Thanks for the info. How long would it take under perfect conditions to go from 25g. too 50g. on average. Just an idea on how fast they grow.
