I took him to the vet first thing Monday morning and thought he passed while in the lobby waiting to be seen. He was very week and barely breathing. The vet examined him and said that he looked healthy but she would treat him for a calcium deficiency after listening to my descriptions of his behavior. I really don't understand how he could have a calcium deficiency. I dust his prey at every feeding but after receiving an ejection and oral doses of calcium every day he seems perfectly normal like nothing happened at all. The only problem so far is he won't eat live food so I'm feeding him baby food with a syringe. Seems to act like he has no appetite when I try to give him crickets, even refused a waxworm. But when I give him baby food he laps it up like there's no tomorrow.
She did mention that he could have a neurological disorder from birth. She described the symptoms as stargazing, staring up at the sky and dropping his head to one side. Now I've witnessed him doing these things and it's starting to worry me. Does anyone elses beardie have this behavior? or something similar to it?
