Vivarium substrate

jungle Mar 18, 2004 12:15 PM

I want to change my vivarium substrate. Currently I have bed-a-beast and it sticks to frogs who drag it all over the plants and it is just a mess. I want a substrate that has a dark appearance. What ingredients can I use that will give the substrate a dark appearance.

I know Vivaria Projects' peat bricks are pretty dark, almost black, in color. But i don't know if it sticks to the darts' bodies.

Id say no matter what the substrate if they are walking on the soil and its moist in there its going to stick. My darts hardly ever have anything on them, but i also have moss in al of my tank.
