First I guess I didn't find the post as to what is wrong with your iguana. Is it a calcium deficiency or a problem with his limbs? If it is calcium you do have to be careful even with small falls as their bones can become brittle enough to break on a fall that wouldn't harm another one. The same can go for an iguana with a limb problem. If it is limbs has your vet suggested or helped you learn to do massage to possibly give the iguana more usage of its legs or if it is calcium is it now getting enough UVB and calcium in its diet? Let me know what was wrong with the iguana in the first place and I may be able to help more. But if it is either of the first two instances I would possible suggest a shorter cage but higher off the floor so that the iguana still gets the feeling of being arboreal but does not have as much of a chance to hurt itself. Another good option is to use wider ramps that have a slow incline so that it can go up easier. This would also help so it would have more moving room.

He is set up right i adopted him with these problems. he was neglected and then sent to a shelter. he was never allowed to climb at his original home or at the foster home for unknown reasons, he used to have MBD. but he is MBD free. he is set up right. i read and read before i adopted him and he is not my first reptile. i used to post on here evryday helping other people but i have just not had the time.. between work and talking to people online helping them with their own iguana problems. anyways... my vet and other vets (he has been to three i belive) all told me the same thing. between not being able to climb and the old MBD they dont think he will ever be able to climb 100%. so they suggested cutting his cage in half and giving him the upper level.. so he feels higher.. plus he never makes the effort to climb. he has had all the opertunity to do it.. the only thing he will clibm on is his branch and even that he has trouble clmibing. he ahs full useage of his limbs.. he walks and runs at me fine....lol. he just cant climb. i give him soaks every other day and i massage his limbs then. he has his calcium and other vitamins he is on the right diet and has all the proper lighting. trust me i hate seeing him not be able to climb. iw ish he could. but the way i think about is.. he is like a kid that needs a little extra help... if the kid cant read you help them.. my iguana cant climb for crap so i figured i woul try and help him. and this is the best thing me and my vet can think of. he has consulted with other vets and they alls aid the same thing. there is not reason to have him climb and fall and hurt himself when it can be avoided so easily. his ramps are very wide. i belive they were close to 2 feet wide when they were in there(they have been removed so he doesnt hurt himself).

I am really happy to see you know what you are doing with your iguana. Then since it was your vets advice and you have researched than a shorter high up cage would probably work great but again if you are wanting to utilize the whole cage than wide slow incline ramps (like 1x4 or so) might also work for you.
Either way it seems like your iguana is lucky to have an owner/caretaker so conscientious about it's happiness.
