Welllll... there are a few things i would think you should do... 1. it would be nice to get a temperature gun to measure the heat at any location in the tank, but they are a little expensive(I think we got one from LLLReptiles for like 75 bucks) 2. you could get a Thermostat from a local pet store or online, which will run you 100.00+, but are reallly reallly worth the money in order to control the temperatures.. But your temperature is good if it is 88-90 degrees. but you need to know the temp on the "cool" side also so that you know the gradiant of temps... But dont stress too much it sounds like you are doing wonderful.. Get some pictures up here so we can see your little girl or boy... Wish I could help you more!
Sincerely,

I maintain a hot spot in all of my boa enclosures of 90 degrees and a cool area of 80 degrees plus or minus. At any given time except for when I am cycling the animals the average body temperature of my adult boas range from 82 to 86 degrees. Hope this helps.

The temp gun is the best equipment purchase I have made in a looooonnnnggggg time. You can get them for about $25 from LLLreptile & proexotics.com right now. Check the classifieds on KS. Be careful with the bulbs...make sure the snakes can't get too close to them!
I myself would ditch the heat lamp and go with a heat pad on the warm side(undertank heater)or if your cage is made of wood then I would use heat tape(underneth). With heating pads they can stay warm at night as well. You do have to make sure the room temp. is 75 to 80 degress.Just giving advice that works for me very well.
