Spotted Python troubles

You give them food, a nice shelter, fresh water and even a mate, and this is how they repay you! I guess it's just one of the perks of keeping the fascinating critters.

He did let go after about 10 minutes.

I had a phone call out last night and found a Stimson's python trapped in a prawn net.
But the snake is so tame, must be an escaped pet.

I was thinking of getting one of these or a Childrens LOL. This the first time he bit you and does it hurt? I just have a corn snake and looking for another snake. I would love to have a Ball Python but they get kind of big. I haven't ruled the Ball Pythons out yet though. Does the Spotted Pythons like to wrap and chill out like the Balls do?

It didn't really hurt. It was kind of uncomfortable because his teeth were in the soft skin behind my thumbnail. Both my male and female Spotted python have bit me before (it is the male in this picture). The male has a really bad attitude and has nailed me several times. The female has only bit me twice. It seems to be a feeding response because they constrict and hold on. So based on my experience spotted are not a snake that to wrap up and chill out with. Some others might have Spotteds with a nice behaivor, but my 2 sure don't. FYI the male is 3 years old and the female is almost 5. I'm not trying to scare you away from Spotteds, these are really cool snakes, just from my experience not one to handle a lot.

My girl managed to grab a mouthful of the soft tender flesh of my inner forearm once. Then she twisted to wrap and gave me such a hicky!
My 30gram baby grabbed my shirt cuff last week and took a couple minutes to think it through and realize it wasn't gonna work.
I don't consider it aggression. I consider it enthusiasm. Or maybe they are just very optimistic critters.......There must be food in there somewhere!

Haven't we warned you about tampering with the structure of a chaotic system?
