MY LIZARD IS WILD!!!

dazz Mar 19, 2004 03:31 AM

I have allready posted here in the past cause my lizards was really poorly, underweight and refused to eat but after a worming dosage from my vet he seemed to pick up and is doing much better now.

My problem is that now my collared is starting to put weight on and is very hyperactive he wont let me anywhere near him!
This has went on now for about 2 weeks. He raises his back like a cat and hisses at me and has bit me a few times which was really painfull. I approach him very slowly from the front and never from the top as i'm told this freaks them out but still no change. Do you think he will eventually calm down? I am pretty positive he is w/caught so is that the problem?

Ohh he is still getting force feed as well and hasnt shown much interest in catching his food himself either, but he seems so bright and active and really getting his health back..

please help!!!!!!!!!! darren

Perhaps forcefeeding need not be an issue now. If his health has come back, give him a couple weeks with no handfeeding, and see if he surprises you. He will tame down, but it sounds like his hated experiences right now involve your hand LOL

I bet he will begin eating on his own now. Give hime a week or two. pinch the crickets rear legs off, and put them in a deep heavy dish. You will know then if he is eating them or not.

Let me know how things work out. Thanks for the update.
