This morning I found my baby hogg island hiding underneath her bedding. Is this normal? Or is she trying to escape the heat in her cage or something like that? I didn't think boas normally tried to dig.

They will almost always try to hide... whether it's crawling under newspaper, in a box/hide/cave, under bedding...
In my smaller boas enclosures that contain aspen, most are usually under the paper..
Try putting in a hide box, cave, or even an empty papertowel roll.. she will most likely switch and use that...
I use empty toilet paper rolls for basically free hide spots for babies, and empty papertowel rolls for free tearling hide spots..
I also use empty mini/single serving cereal boxes as hides for them..
half a coffee cup, turned upside down... possibilities are endless..
It provides a sense of security and your baby should be much happier.

Thanks for the help... she already has a hide box, but if she'd rather dig through her bedding, I guess that's up to her... I'll try adding another place for her to hide and see if that helps. Thanks again!
