more questions

Sorry I kind of keep asking the same questions but I'm new to the whole turtle mama thing. I was thinking of getting a 40-55 gal tank and I was wondering if it mattered if it was the long kind or not. If it's the regular kind you can just fill it up with more water right? I was also wondering what kind of canister filter I should get for this size tank. Thanks in advance. You all have been so helpful to me already!

The real long tanks aren't really good, you want as much front to back space as possible so your turtle has room to turn around, and not just swim back and forth. I use a FLuval 304 on my 55 gallon tank, and it keeps it very clean. I have two 4 inches males living in there. In the summer they are getting a pond in the backyard.

you might want to ask your tank supplier for "breeder"tanks.they are the deeper(frt 2 bk)tanks mentioned above.i use 50gal breeders.they work great for 1-2 smaller turtles.

dsgngrl,
Do you feed your turtles in a separte tank to avoid more mess?
