How can I tell

I have a question that I did not see in the old forums. I have a tegu she is supossed to be a blue do any of you out there know when the blue will start to show? She is 9 months old right now. I am just wondering as she is black and white right now. thank you

the color's won't really start to show until 18-24 months also depending on whether or not its male or female (a male shows brighter colors).

Look at her snout. Argentine B/W Tegus usually have a white nose with black edging around the scales. If your Tegus has a smudged looking nose, like she's been rooting around in the dirt, it's most likely a Blue. Here are some comparison shots...the pair are Blues, single lizard is a B/W.

I believe Jane summed it up regaridng their nose differences.
We have 2 , well had 2 male blues. 1 @ 7, months and 1 @ 8 mos.
Here is the pic of the younger one. (Phoenix-we still have him)
I have alos found that blues will have more whitish markings that appear almost glowing, versus the B&Ws. This could be differences though between each individual tegu.

Here is a better pic of Phoenix showing more of his blue hint.
This was taken 2 days before we received him. He's approx 7 months old and quite a personality! LOL
