hwo come the leopard gecko can regenertae a tail but not a finger???

Well first they dont store fat in their fingers and second they really dont need all of them to survive.The reason they can regenarate their tails is because when they store fat their tail gets bigger so when they start storing fat again after the tail falls off it grows back.

Leopards will drop their tails when they are scared so that other animals are distracted by that fact and leave the gecko alone and he is able to get away. Animals have different abilities to help them survive and this is one that the gecko has, dropping a finger makes no sense, dropping a tail does!
