In the very first litter of pups that I produced (which was only three) one of the rats was a hairless dumbo. I have seen hairless rats but not hairless dumbos. Is this uncommon?

Hairless breeders often have them. It's not uncommon but you don't see them everywhere.

Well, I raise hairless dumbos a lot. But then the parents are either hairless and dumbo or het for etc. Somewhere in your rat's genes is hairless and dumbo in both parents.

Haven't we warned you about tampering with the structure of a chaotic system?

I'm not sure if I have seen a hairless dumbo or not, but I do know several people who have hairless rats of some sort, just not sure of the type. If you think that is weird, try patchwork rats. I used to have some pics of these rats that a good friend of mine started having. Imagine a hairless with jigsaw like pattern of hair all over and over the course of time, the lines move around slightly. They don't breed very well though but they are very cool looking. I'll see if I can rustle up some of the pics for them.
Thanks, that would be awesome. Oh good news I just had a rat pop while I was at work tonight. I think there were 11 babies
