Need Cage ideas for WD

jeffro9 Mar 19, 2004 01:47 PM

I have a 20 tall cage for my WD. I put him in a long 20 and he was not happy and the humidity was too low so I put him back. He is a length of 11 inches. I need to move him into a palace soon. What are your comments about cages?

I have been told to line a wood cage in bathroom paneling walls so that the woood does not eventually rot from moisture. When I build should I have front or top opening doors??? I do not want a 60 gallon aquarium form him I want a cage built 48"x36"x24"deep. Is that good enough or can I go a little smaller?

No, you can't go smaller than that, in fact, that is still too small, but he would probably survive. I suggest no smaller than 5'x4'x2.5'. You don't need the bathroom panelling, you just need to coat the wood with several coats of polyurethane. Make sure it airs out well over several weeks before putting the dragon in it. Plexiglass works pretty well as a door for the front.
