if your positive calcium is what you need, purchase a cuttle bone at a pet supply store (theyre for birds so i'm confident any shop will have them) and scrape the cuttlebone dust onto whatever the turtle is eating. a cuttle bone should be only a buck or two, and will last you a few weeks.

the flaky shell thing isnt about calcium but dry habitat. cuttlebone is good for calcium tho. just scrap off the hard backing part and let it flote iun the water tank. the turtle will bite it when it wants to. you can get cuttle bones at any pet store and even some grocery stores in the pet area where they sell dog food and stuff for pets
