Here's Frodo!

JFC31 Mar 19, 2004 02:49 PM

Just wanted to post a picture of my new, Nosy Be panther cham named Frodo. He is about 4.5 months old and I purchased him through one of the sponsors of this site, Chameleon Corral, 2 weeks ago. His parents are "Poseiden" and "Belle". He is very healthy and active and he seems to be getting better-looking every day! He eats crickets, silkies and meal worms, but so far, he doesn't seem to care for wax worms at all. Although he'll take crix out of his feeding cup, he much prefers them to roam around so he can hunt them down...very interesting to see him get "excited" by the roaming crix and go into stealth mode! One problem though is that he lives on an open enclosure called Chameleon Canopy and the crix often fall off of the flower pots & into the lowest area in the habitat....and so far Frodo does not care to venture that far down the encloure to zap them....he stays in the upper areas exclusively. But I make sure he gets plenty of food every day and he loves his new home.

hi there, nice cham by the way. So you were talking about your cricket problem, and what i prefer to do when i feed my cham in the canopy, is to remove the hind legs, or just put one at a time in the canopy for him to eat. this way he wont loose the crickets. just wanted to throw in my two cents.

Thanks for the advice....I'll try it. I guess without their back legs, they can't climb over the lip of the pot so easily, eh?
