hibernation

how come my turtles dont hibernate? i heard of other turtles growing film over their eyes and sleeping but mine never does that! it hasn't does it for a few years either...um...i'd like to know what thats all about, do they hibernate only if they live outdoors? thank you ^^

Turtles won't hibernate unless the temperature drops, so if you keep them in a tank at a constant temperature they will never hibernate. Turtle keepers do sometimes hibernate their turtles by gradually lowering the temp and sometimes keeping them in the fridge. DO NOT attempt this without some serious research and guidance from somebody who knows what they are doing.
