noelle Jun 11, 2003 09:23 PM

one of my geckos who used to be the healthy fat one threw up today...or what'd i'd assume is throwing up...regurgitated cricket yuck. his tail is a LOT skinnier than it used to be (like a week ago) and today he is refusing to eat crickets, only mealworms. he pooped yesterday. any ideas what it could be? should i be really worried?
thanks

Well, how does the poop looks like?, is it runny?, did he/she threw up just one?. Some geckos do that sometimes and it is because they are not hungry or bc they couldn't digest it. Did the crix have wings? with wings sometimes is more difficult to digest. On the other hand, if she/he eats mealworms and he/she doesnt throw them up...dont worry. Just keep an eye on her and be sure that she gets more food. About the tail, she might just have stopped eating for a while...sometimes they do it...again, keep an eye on her, be sure she starts eating again...

first thing to check is the temps are they still up where they should be? Sometimes there eyes are bigger than their stomachs. They eat too much at one time and throw up. If the poop starts looking funny or it continues I would have a fecal exam done.
