Question

MR_ANACONDA28 Mar 19, 2004 05:06 PM

I have a question about size. With anacondas there is a huge size differance between the sexes. Is there much of a size differance between burms? Thanx Eric

In most cases, females are much larger (girthier...heavier) than males. But, there are always exceptions and I have personally seen a huge, 16' male burm. In my experience, though, males are much leaner in mass than a similarly sized female.

So on average how long do males end up getting?

that's difficult to say because most captive burms are improperly kept leading to a shortened life. there is no reason to think that a male burm, on average, will reach lengths over 14' if kept properly. to list an "average" size is difficult because there are so many factors affecting growth.
