I have 2 supposedly male western hognoses and it looks like they are going through the mating ritual for the past 3 days. Can this happen or are they probably miss-sexed?

Allthough I have never actually known of an example of this with hognoses, I have heard numorous intances of this happening with other species. In fact, several years ago a friend of mine was cleaning cages and temporarily put his male burmese python in with his male columbian boa and the burm tried to mate with the boa! If I was you, I would double check the sex of your hognoses just to be safe. Check the lengths of their tails. Males have much longer tails than females.

Well i have had my males do the mating dance with each other, but the difference is they try to push each other away.(courtship combat) If their is a female in the cage they just try to slide all over the female instead of pushing her away.
