Fake Rock for a White's Tree Frog????

zooguy Mar 19, 2004 07:26 PM

Hey-
I'm interested in building a custom cage for my White's Tree Frog. I really would like to use a fake rock background. Are fake rock backgrounds too porus for a moist enclosure? If so, can I seal the rock? Also, in the instructions that I read for fake rock, you are supposed to use mineral spirits (paint thinner) to make holes in the styrofoam. Will any of this seep through and poison my WTF???
Thank you everybody for your help!!!!

hey,
i have made several fake rock enclosures and have never used mineral spirits....just carve them by hand or with a knife.

you would have to seal with something although i'm not sure what....i have the same question, not about tree frogs but about humid enclosures, so may be someone else could help.
