Shedding problem - solved

Herprookie Mar 19, 2004 08:04 PM

Our reverse Okeetee,Sly had a really bad shed today.
Half of the skin came off his front end and the rest was still on his rear half.
The two previous sheds came off perfect.
When we bought him from Kathy Love in Dec (hatched Jul 4,03)
we also purchased her text book. The book paid for itself tonight. The book said to soak the snake in water for 15 minutes.
We soaked him in water (bottled spring water)and while he squirmed and slid through my fingers the remaining skin gradually came off.
It took almost 15 minutes but it all came off with no problems.

That is great. I love the Corn Snake Manuel. Some times what I do is mist down their, I have 2 corns, a milk and a Jungle python, tanks and the snake to help with the shed process. Also if you have a decent size water bowl that will help with the humidity. I have found that if I cover part of my screen tops with seran wrap it will help keep some moisture in the tanks too.
