Unfertile eggs?

agachyl Mar 19, 2004 09:01 PM

About a month ago I had a female lay a clutch (2 eggs). Tried to incubate these eggs but the following day they grew mold on them. About 2 weeks later I noticed what appeared to be a shriveled up egg in her tank, although it was only the size of a quarter. Then another 2 weeks later I found another clutch of eggs (not really a clutch because it was only 1 egg). This was only in her tank for an hour before i noticed, so I put it in the incubator. There was a small indent on the top of the egg when i put it in, but the next day the top half of the egg was caved in. Is it normal for a female to lay clutches that quickly? If not, was that the reason for the 2nd clutch of eggs to be laid one at a time?

Leos will lay eggs every 2-3 weeks when in season, and eggs are not exclusively laid in pairs so it looks like she laid 2 in the first clutch, one in the second and one in the third.
