Snarks Mar 19, 2004 09:42 PM

1. not tell distance, like mine will walk off my hand or desk and plummet to her death had it been not for my other hand. Does anyone elses geckos stop at the edge or are mine just "special".
2. Do they see color? I have no idea how you could prove or disprove or do a study on this but i'm curious.

thanks

My leos would plummet to their death if given the chance! LoL....I think it's because all they think is "SweetFreedom!!"..hehe..well, you don't have *special* leos. Just free spirited! LoL..

Mine will always try and walk off the edge of what ever they are on. I think it`s because they are generally ground dwelling they never really have to encounter hights of any distance so they never have a reason to think that walking off something would hurt them. And I guess in the wild the ones who do walk off the edge of something high don`t make it back home to tell the others about it.

Not a clue about the sight though... interesting question.

All three will not walk off. In fact, they will do everything in their power to stay on. Even if it means hanging upside down on my hand. The wont walk or climb off of my bed or any other high structure.

Hi

You can train them not to. You let them start to crawl on your hand and when she/he starts to get near the edge, you put your hand parallel in front of her and say the word "easy" at the same time, then let her crawl on that hand and when she gets near the edge, repeat the hand and word again and just keep practicing this, until she gets the hang of it. I trained all of mine the same way and they don't go of my hand.

Take Care, TLB
