i have a problem...

My 2 baby leos(about 4 months old) got into a fight! I was just getting ready to feed them their crickets for tonight and they came up to the glass getting ready. All of a sudden ones tail started like.. wagging and shaking and then he bite the other ones head! He had his WHOLE head in his head bitting! Then I put my hand in there and he ran to the back. The hurt one didn't fight back or nothing though.. he then crawled in his den and layed down and ate about half hour later. He had a small drip of blood on his nose. Why did he do this?! They have always got along and cuddled and stuff. Right now they are sleeping on opposite sides of the tank, which they've never done. It was so upsetting to see, I had tears! What happened and what do I do?!

You need to seperate them asap, I bet they are both males, and are starting to hit the age that they will not get along anymore.

This could be due to a lot of things. I’ve seen leos mistake another leo’s leg for a food item, but they always seem to realize its not food and don’t bite hard, or latch on. Anytime they go for the head, you know it’s very aggressive behavior.

I think your best bet is to keep them in different cages. Some geckos just don’t get along well with others; try to keep your little ones best interest in mind. Are you sure you don’t have 2 males? Even if they are both females, I have seen them become very territorial especially at feeding time.

Put a small dab of antibiotic ointment on your leos wound and keep the cage extra clean until it has healed. Hope this helps,
