Whitesided Brooks..

lbrat Mar 20, 2004 07:58 AM

Does anyone know the history behind this awsome morph?Such as who bred it first, how did it come about? Was a wild caught specimen found or did it just "pop" up in someones clutch. Are they true Brooks?I would really like to purchase a pair to work with this year. Can someone post a pic? Thanks.

The white-sided brooks morph oridginated from one of Lloyd Lemke's brooksi axanthic strains. Mine are less than a year old so are not showing the adult coloration yet. Very impressive animals, I'll try and post some pics in the near future.

Tim Ricks was the first to hatch these out.Tim picked up an Axanthic male(Lemke) & wanted to make Hets because of the problems others were having breeding(Lemke) Axanthic to Axanthic.Tim bred the Axanthic to a normal & out popped the first White-Sided which was a male I believe, the rest is history.

Mike, thx for the added history. When I purchased mine the only hx I was able to get was that they oridginated from the Lemke strain. Do you know if Tim is still working with this strain and do you have contact inf.?
