Tinctorius call

Randy27 Jun 11, 2003 10:01 PM

I'm trying to get my male cobalt to call, so I've been playing the sample tinc call on Aaron's frog page. When I do play it, he goes absolutely NUTS, hopping all around madly, climbing the glass, etc., etc. but he never starts calling. Is there a certain time of day that I should try this or what? I don't know...maybe he's got stagefright or something.

Yup, he's a he. He's also wc, so I'm not sure on the age, but I got him when he was adult size about 6 months ago. So I guess he might be a little young, but his behavior when I play the call seems to be territorial.

With my firebelly toads i recorded a call and played it over and over they all would line up side by side and listen to the sound but wouldnt call. well i heard something i think it was a little call but it was to silent to be sure. then about 3-4 weeks later they started calling. and they call all the time now. but thats fbts...

Tink's have a very low call unless you have you ear right next to the tank you probably wont here it and even then its hard to here. Best thing to do is play the call then pay attention to his neck area see if it puffs out at all also look at him some times when darts call they vibrate a little.
