HELP!! Some time last night my gecko had eggs.

savana_man Mar 20, 2004 02:10 PM

I was going to the reptile show today to sell my geckos and get an iguana, but when I got up today to pack them up my girl had eggs. She laid 2 of them. So I went to the reptile show, sold 2 geckos instead of all of them, buy supplies and and iguana. Then we went to a seed and feed store and I bought a Hova Bator. What should the humidity and temps be? If you need to ask any more questions or add info please do.

Hi

What temp. to have the hovabator at will depend on what sex you want the baby's to be, yes, you can determine the sex you want them to be.

For all girls, I would incubate around 83 degrees, 85 to 86 for a mix of girls and boys and about 88 to 90 for all boys. They said in a book that if you incubate at 90 degrees for all boys, then you should only keep it at that temp. for two weeks and then turn the temp. down to about 85 or 86 degrees for the rest of the incubation time. If left on 90 for the whole incubation time, then you could fry the embryos.

humidity should be 85 percent.

Do not rotate eggs ever, pick them up and put them into your incubating container the same way they were layed.
