Puffy Casque - Sick?

sucoyant Mar 20, 2004 04:02 PM

Good day all!

My chameleon, Meric, has a puffy casque which just started a week or so ago. His eyes are also popping out of his head a bit more than normal.
We recently moved into a new house, so he has been a little stressed. He hasn't been eating the best. I'm really concerned about his well being. I've never seen his casque this big.

His casque is normally this size:

Sorry it's not the best of quality... but the sides of his casque are flat.

This is the way it currently looks:

Would anyone know why his casque is this puffy? It is also bulging in the back of his casque quite a bit more than normal.

Is this something I should be worried about?

By the way - His casque has always been a bit crooked. I suppliment his diet with calcium, and I have the Reptisun/glo lights.... I believe it's just the way he is. I have a crooked nose, so "Like father, like son" =P

...i have no idea what that is. Is it hard or soft? You can also try posting to the ChamResearch forum. Chris and Ivan sometimes post here but you may get a faster response from their forums.

Do you have a good vet??? I would certainly consider a visit

Thanks for the reply, and the link.

His casque is a bit hard. It's quite unusual...
