to clear up a few post about pogo's coccidia....

pogo_the_dragon Mar 20, 2004 08:11 PM

I didn't get a chance to read your posts, opinions about pogo and his coccida...First of all I know your opinions are said with the intent on first hand experience and to help me in this situation to understand what the problem was. I don't want anyone to assume though that I didn't want my vet because he wouldn't treat pogo with Albon. I have read first hand accounts of what the albon does to a reptile's body and also know that litle coccidia is fine...The reason I was pissed is because the vet said during Pogo's last fecal exam that it was "LOADED" with the coccidia. Then He made me leave without giving me any suggestions other than that all US dragon have some form of coccidia which I already knew. I understand he might have been concerned because at that point Pogo had already been treated several times but he didn't express that..The reason he did retreat the first couple times was because of my fault. I gave the wrong weight cuz I had a faulty scale. I take that blame. So of course if you underprescribe it won't help the situation. Anyway I just wanted to clear that up. I'm not trying to overdose my dragon here...I just want him healthy and happy!

Does Pogo show any outward signs of illness?
