Hi there, which state or city are you collecting the snakes shown in your pictures? Also what time of the year were these pictures taken, and what is the weather like? IE: Spring time &
mild? Iam just a curious fellow Garter snake lover comparing your conditions ( weather Ect )to mine in British Columbia, Canada.
Thank you,
Wade.
I took a bunch of pics last Saturday, the 20th. As soon as it starts warming up here, they come out of hibernation. Garters are very cold tolerant snakes, and we just started hitting the 60's and 70's, and they came popping out! I took my daughter with me and she had a blast!! We only kept 3 snakes. The males aren't real wary when they first come out, their main interest is finding females. We sat in the middle of them and watched them crawl all around us! My daughter had a great time!!!
OOPS....I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. The den is right on the edge of town.
