OK, mine are finally BREEDING! But she is a litte skinny...advice?

Hey,

My female has not eaten since late September, and my male stopped in December. This is their first season as full adults, and the weather has really warmed up here in North East Florida. Tried to pair 'em up and BANG! They're at it. The only thing I'm worried about is that the female is WAY skinnier than she used to be. She finally showed an interest in food last week, but after sniffing it a long while, refused again.

When can I expect her(them) to start eating again?

How long B4 any possible offspring?

When should I separate?

Any other input?

Thanks,

Stevo

In my opinion I would seperate them now. If your female hasn't eaten in 6 months and is losing weight I would be concerned that she won't do very well being gravid. If she becomes pregnant that will make 11 1/2 months without a meal. I'm certainly not as experienced as some other forum participants, but I wouldn't allow any more breeding and hope that this year she won't be gravid.

It will be interesting to see other's opinions.

Linda
